‘a parasite in our love’

I know you’ ve said sorry
But I’m worried that we’ll carry
this resentment with us now

That it will find a home in our love

Burrow inside like a parasite

Drawing nourishment from our joys and lifeblood
Undermining us despite its dependence on us for survival

But I just can’t seem to rip it out
without taking my insides with it.
